Tartaruga

A revolutionary concept in decorative exterior finishes, Tartaruga has been certified by architects, builders and property owners across the world. Developed by Berger Portugal, Tartaruga means ‘tortoise’ in Portuguese and the product’s extreme durability aptly reflects the tortoise’s remarkably long lifespan. Honed to perfection by Berger India’s R&D to stand up to the rigors of Indian conditions, Tartaruga has more than proved itself in the two decades since its launch. With a high-build acrylic formulation (200-300 microns), it is water-resistant, includes aggregates like quartz, mica, silicon and cobalt, as well as IN resistant inorganic pigments and other additives to enhance its durability. Available in an unlimited range of textures and shades, what’s more, Tartaruga is easy to apply and can be used on a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces.

Properties

Water Resistant Tartaruga’s film has a unique property that enables it to ‘breathe’ out entrapped moisture from the paint surface and the substrate.

Fungus Proof Broad spectrum fungicides and biocides work to prevent the growth of algae and mould, not just on the paint surface but on the substrate as well.

Adaptable & Versatile Tartaruga’s excellent surface adhesion enables it to be used on a wide variety of surfaces – cement plasters, cement renders, wood, hard and soft boards, asbestos – making it the most versatile designer option.

Thermoplastic Formulated to stand up to extreme climatic conditions, the paint film has tough elastic properties that enable it to stretch to accommodate contractions and expansions caused by varying ambient temperatures, thereby preventing cracks and fissures on the painted surface.

Solar Reflectivity Specially formulated with UV resistant pigments that enable Tartaruga to be fade resistant and keep its just painted look for at least 10 years. Tartaruga has proprietary Ingredients that act as a thermal barrier which reflects Infra Red Rays. This ensures superior solar reflectivity and reduces the heating effect on walls (tested at CESR, Indore).
